Health is Not Just Wealth, It’s a Mirror of Strength (A Note from a Sick Bed)

Hello to all my readers! And assalamualaikum for those who are muslims!

Please forgive my sudden disappearance. For the past two days, I have been completely defeated by a fever. I’ve been lying down, feeling weak, and truly unable to do anything.
But this two-day fever is actually just the tail end of a small series of trials that my daughter and I faced earlier. Before I fell ill, Lilly (my 8-month-old baby) and I were admitted to the children’s ward for four days. Lilly had a fever and cough. Naturally, as a mother, I had to stay and look after her throughout our time there.

Children’s Ward – traumatic place for a mother

Wisdom Within the Ward Walls
Those four days in the ward were truly eye-opening. We might feel like our own struggles are severe, but believe me, there are people out there fighting battles that are far, far heavier.

I met one mother (1) who shared her story. Her child had severe allergies, perhaps linked to treatments or injection of MMR for the 9-months old baby. The baby’s face was covered in rashes, the body temperature wouldn’t drop, and antibiotics and various other medications were constantly being administered. As a mother, seeing a baby so tiny endure such pain is heartbreaking.

I also met another mother (2), older, maybe in her 50s. She was looking after her child, who was around 3 months old and also running a fever. The most astonishing part? This was her 14th child! I could see how exhausted and worn out she was, yet she remained strong while tending to her little one.

Complaining is Not an Option
Seeing all this immediately filled my heart with gratitude. No matter how challenging the trials and sickness I face right now, they don’t compare to the struggles of others.
God is so good. He tests people according to their level of strength and patience. That is why I rarely choose to complain. Because complaining never brings relief; instead, it only adds a burden to the soul.
Right now, I am still fighting this fever and cough. 🤧

Health is the Most Precious Wealth
Lately, I had set myself a personal challenge to be consistent with my writing: one chapter posted every day. It seems I need to take a good look in the mirror. I have to learn to move at the pace of my health, not at the pace of the self-imposed deadlines I create.
No wonder they said: Health is the most precious wealth. It is a truth we only fully grasp when it is temporarily taken away.
That’s all for today’s sharing.

Terrafast because all the paracetamol i took, no effect on me no more.

Take care of your health, everyone! Always be grateful, always be strong.
