Silent sunday : dreaming in white

Happy Silent Sunday, everyone.

Today, I’m striving for stillness. I want that specific kind of quiet that seems to damp down the noise of the manic week behind me.
To help me get there, I’m staring at this image.

A rustic brick building corner with a slatted window and large tropical fern leaves, heavily blanketed in deep, white snow under a cold sky.

Look at it. You can almost hear the silence in this picture. There is something profoundly muffling about a heavy snowfall. It blankets the roofs, weighs down the branches, and turns the sharp edges of the world into soft, rounded shapes. It forces everything to pause.

Except… here’s the confession.
That image is a beautiful fiction for my current reality. Those lush, tropical-looking fern leaves buckling under the weight of ice? That’s a surreal contradiction to the vibrant, sweating greenery outside my own window right now.

Theres no snow. Its just sunny rustic brick building.

But today, on this Silent Sunday, I am choosing to live inside my imagination.
